My name is Jessica Donovan.  I am from Shorewood, Minnesota and graduated from Minnetonka High School in 2004.  Through high school I played basketball and ran cross country and track.  Skipper Pride!  I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in May with degrees in physical education, school health, and developmental/adaptive physical education.  I ran cross country and track and field for two years while at MSU and competed in several intramural sports.  Go Mavs!

I was lucky to have two amazing student teaching placements which provided me with numerous opportunities to expand my teaching experience and knowledge.  My first experience was at Edina High School in Edina, MN where I taught 10-12th grade physical education and health.  I focused on instilling in my students a love for physical activity and taking care of their bodies.  I continued my student teaching experience traveling to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia for a 4 week teaching experience in a K-7 setting at Morayfield East State School.  While in Morayfield, I had the opportunity to teach gymnastics and track and field and develop additional skills to work with a diverse student population.

In my free time I enjoy watching and playing sports, running, biking, and watching House.  I enjoy going home on the weekends to see my family and relax.  If money weren't an issue I would travel the world.  I want to step foot on every continent and I have an extensive list of the countries (including several tropical islands) I would like to see.  I also have a passion for watching baseball games and wish to see every major league baseball park.

I'm extremely excited to have my first year of teaching at Hayfield.  I will be teaching 8th and 10th grade health and 7-10th grade physical education along with supervising a 9-12th grade study hall.  I will also be the 7th grade girls basketball coach and assistant track and field coach.  Go Vikings!
